Power Within 8

Power Within Chapter 8       

Sonic had been running around for days trying to find Shadow. He could barely sleep knowing that he was out there something and no here with him. Tails had been trying to trace chaos energy that could be Shadow but with no such luck. It was like he had vanished off the face of earth, he knew they must be hiding the chaos energy somehow. Knuckles was also trying to help Tails in finding them. Because Knuckles needs to be near the master emerald at all times they had to stay on angel island. Exempt for Sonic who would often leave to go to the woods were he first met Shadow, knowing that it must be near there.

Finally after days of sleepless nights and searching for hours so the one he loved he managed to find a well hidden building in near the woods. He hid and waited till the gates opened to let out a GUN car, within the blink of a eye he dashed in without anyone knowing better. Using his super sonic speed he ran all over the place looking for some labs. After many minutes looking around the big building he finally saw what looked like some labs. The only problem was that there were loads of labs, and they were will filled with scientist. They would see him for sure, would they leave soon, looked like he would have to wait. Sonic found a place to hide there and waited for them to leave for their luck break an hour later. Wow he got bored in there, he looked around see if he could see Shadow.

He sure hopped there was not another part of the building with more labs he missed. Soon Sonic managed to find one very large lab with all sorts of things he had never seen before. Wait was that a cage? He looked closer and saw that it was and Shadow was in it, next to him was a needle. They most of drugged him to calm him down. But he looked like he was paralysed, he was not moving or responding. Sonic looked around some draws and found a whole bunch of keys any one of them could be the one to Shadow's cage. He tried several of the keys but none of them seemed to work in panic and he searched for anymore keys. But could not find any before he knew it he could hear people making their way to the lab. He quickly hid under a table near Shadow and watched two humans come in having a conversation.

"So I guess we have to keep him paralysed all the time to make sure he does not escape again." Said a tall young scientist with brown hair, he sat down with his cup of coffee and his friend also sat down. "Really? All the time?" asked his older friend who then looked at Shadow. "Yeah commander's orders, or he may vanish again. Well at least now we know he can use chaos energy to to teleport. Keeping him paralysed should stop him from doing it again." The taller man said having some of his drink. "Who's got the key today?" Asked the older male. The taller younger friend smiled and pulled out a key "I do, it's my turn to have a look at him today" he put the key on a table to Shadow and went back to his friend "I will leave it there incase anyone else needs it. I need to go out to do something so half an hour." After a few minutes he left. Sonic needed that key and it was near by, he crawled on the floor happy that no more humans had returned yet. But he had to be quick, there was still someone in there. Hey grabbed the key without being seen and sneaked back to Shadow.

I'm going to save you Shadow if it's the last thing I do. Sonic put the key into the key hole and slowly opened, but it did a loud noise letting the other scientist know about Sonic's presence. "Stop! who goes there!" He quickly got up and ran to Sonic luckily Sonic was fast and managed to grab Shadow bridal style. "Another hedgehog!" He shouted in surprised, his shouted and been heard and within seconds there were soldiers coming in to see what was happening.

Sonic was cornered with Shadow in his arms, it looked like he had no way out. But they did not know who he was, Sonic the fastest thing alive! In a blink of a eye Sonic made a run for it past all the solders dogging all the bullets that tried to hit him. The alarm had gone off now and a security shutdown started to happen. "Intruder alert intruder alert!" Said a loud women on the speakers that was warning everyone of them. Sonic looked behind him and saw drops of blood on the floor, he looked at Shadow and noticed he had been shot just now.

He had to get out of there to help Shadow, he did not want him to bleed to death. But this place is so big it was like a big maze. Finally he saw a place that he recognised and knew that he must be near the exit. Bullets were being shot constantly and he was worried that he if was not careful that he may even get shot too. He finally saw the light to the exit and ran towards it quickly before the door would shut because of the security shutdown. He got out into the woods and quickly rushed out of sight from the soldiers. Yes he finally saved Shadow, now all he had to do was find his friends and help Shadow from his bullet wound. He find a quiet place where he would be able to quickly call Tails tell him that he had found Shadow.

After that Sonic went back to his home were there would be bandages and medicine for Shadow. He put Shadow on his bed that they had shared together and got everything he needed to help the black Hedgehog. It appeared that Shadow had lost lots of blood, he looked really pale. He may even need stitch seeming there were some new cuts from before he got him. GUN must of done something to him, looked like an operation of some sort. Tails would be able to give him some stitches he had done it loads of time for Sonic after he would get hurt in a fight. Sonic bandaged him up and disinfect  his cuts to make sure he would not get a infection. Shadow had not moved at all while all of this had happened. He was really worried about Shadow. Who knew how much pain he must of been in know. How long would he be paralysed for anyway?

An hour later and Tails arrived, he was shocked to see the condition that Shadow was in. Tails gave him some pain killers and gave him some stitches on the bad wounds that he had. "It looks like he had a operation here on his leg see." Sonic pointed to the area he saw earlier. Tails felt it and his eyes widen. "It feels really hard, like he out something inside him. This does not feel good I need to possible open it and see what they put it there. It feels metallic! " What did they do to his poor Shadow!?

A few hours of waiting and Tails was finally done and see what they did to his mate. Sonic could not be in the room when he did this he did not want to see him cut open. Tails came out with a small smile on his face. "Don't worry he will be fine, it good you saw that when you did. It turned out to be some sort of tracing device. They must of put it in him in case he would escape again. But I destroyed it. We will have to move soon just in case they come here." Sonic nodded and thanks his buddy for getting that out.

Angel Island is always on the move so that is a good place to go, Knuckles said he would ask to master emerald to make a sort of energy shield that would keep any soldiers away from them. All three of them went on their plane the tornado and flew to angel island. The shield was put up and Shadow was put safely in the bed there to rest after his long hard day. Knuckles said that with his chaos energy inside him he should heal in a day or two. Sonic was at Shadow's bedside constantly, Shadow had finally started to move and when he could finally move like normal the first thing he did was give Sonic a big kiss. "I love you, Sonic thank you so much for saving me. When I get better I want to show you how much I have grateful for you."
