Chapter 2

“How are you even planning on getting to that planet anyway?” Shadow asked frustrated with the blue hedgehog before him. “Well I was thinking we could use some of the chaos emeralds to get there, that seems like the obvious answer to me at least.” Sonic said while he walked down the stairs and into Shadow’s kitchen looking around for any kind of food. Shadow followed behind listening to the hedgehog talked and frowned once he noticed Sonic taking one of his banana’s and start eating it. “Um that’s mine, you know what fine whatever take it, anyway do you have some chaos emeralds that we could use then?” Shadow said staring at Sonic eating his banana slowly, Shadow’s ears perked up a bit watching. Sonic watched back at Shadow, it almost looked like Sonic was checking him out for a second but Shadow just waved it off.

After a moment of silent between the two hedgehog Sonic finally answered “Yeah we managed to collect a few it should be enough to teleport there.” Sonic said between bites of the banana, Shadow looked over at the clock it was was 8:38. Knowing he should have breakfast Shadow turned to his right picking up his kettle filling it up with water and putting it on boil. “Well ok then, when will me travel to the planet and what happened if everyone there tried to kill us?” Shadow said grimily thinning back to when he first met the Black Arms, he picked up a box of cinnamon cereal and started to put it into a bowl. Sonic opened the fridge taking out the milk and passing it to Shadow, followed by him throwing the banana skin in the bin. “Well I was thinking we can be all like we come in peace and do a weird sign with our hands and they should totally be fine with us being there.” Sonic said cockily, while he leaned against the table in the kitchen.

 Shadow sighed “You did not answer my other question, and I really don’t think that will work, that only works in films, Sonic.” Shadow said pouring in the milk into his bowl and putting the now boiled water into his cup, that had a tea bag and one tea spoon of sugar inside. “Oh yeah right, well I was thinking we could go whenever you know, if you want by the end of the week or tomorrow. If they do try to kill us well I guess.. actually maybe we should just try to avoid them at first and see the planet for ourselves. You know, get some information then try talking to them, so if we do get kicked out we will at least have some information to leave with.” Sonic said making his way into the living room and sitting on the couch. “Hey, where is the TV? are you crazy? who does not own a TV?” Sonic said completely confused and rather shocked looking around the room. All he saw was the couch he was on, a large bookshelf filled to the brim with books, a fish tank with small colourful tropical fish, and some more furniture.

At least to Sonic it was a boring looking room but to Shadow it was home and exactly what he wanted. “Well then I guess we can go tomorrow then, and actually I do have a TV it’s in my video game room.” Shadow said matter of fact while he went back into his kitchen to add some milk to his tea, taking the tea bag out it seemed to have done brewing. Sonic’s ears went up and surprise was shown on his face. “You have a video game room?! Shadow, my man I had no idea you were actually cool.” Sonic gave Shadow his famous thumb up and smile towards the grumpy looking Shadow that had just then entered the living room sipping his cup of tea, his cup had a picture of a small earth hedgehog. He had got the cup from a human friend, for some reason the humans had an obsession with getting him things with hedgehogs on them, how unoriginal of them.

“Right now that’s all planned please get out of my house.” Shadow said desperately trying to stay calm, he was still annoyed at the young hedgehog breaking into his house in the early morning. “But I want to see your video game room! Come on Shadow!” Sonic pleaded, Shadow just pointed to the door silently tell him to leave his house. With a huff Sonic got off the couch and and walked out his front door, Shadow quickly locked the door behind him.

The next day Shadow was at home waiting for the blue hedgehog and yellow fox to arrive so they could finally leave. Eventually a nock was heard and so Shadow made his way unlocking the door and opening it to let in the two heroes. “Hey Shadow, I’m god you have decided to do this with us you will be a tremendous amount of help.” Tails said walking in with a few chaos emeralds in his arms, the emeralds gleamed in the sun light. Sonic followed behind Tails smiling at the black hedgehog, they all went into the living room. “So I’m guessing we are going right here right now to the Black Arm planet?” Shadow said looking at the two, they both nodded and handed the chaos emeralds to Shadow. They tolled Shadow where exactly the planet was in the universe and just like that using the mystical legendary powers of the great chaos emeralds Shadow chaos controlled with both Sonic and Tails holding on to Shadow.

A bright light flashed where they once stood and in a blink of an eye they were gone, time almost seemed to stand still between the 3 friends, their hearts were racing this trip could end badly. The bright light vanish and suddenly they found themselves in what looked like a purple rainforest, with plant life that they had never seen before. It was dark, meaning it was night time on this side of the planet, looking up into the sky close by you could see another planet with several rings around it. But clearly is was not the ringed planet they knew of called Saturn but an entirely other planet it was dark blue with white rings around it.

It was peaceful where they were not a living creature in sight, but some of the plants very much did seem alive, a lot of them them were moving. It looked like maybe they were like the venus fly traps from Earth. They moved their heads look for bugs to eat, or at least he assumed it was bugs, they decided it would be best to stay alway from those plants, they were very large much larger then themselves and they were worried they would be dinner if they were not careful.

From the corner of his eye Sonic saw a creatures eyes staring at them from the shadows hidden in the tall grass like plant. Sonic narrowed his eyes and pokes Shadow and Tails to look into the direction of the creature they both looked at it in shock with Sonic. Jumping out of the grass the creature spread it’s 4 wings and roared loudly towards the 3 friends. They all jumps in slight fear and ran in the opposite direction of the 4 winged creature. Luckily being the fastest things alive and luckily for tails being able to catch up a bit behind them they were able to escape the beast and hid in a cave. But before they could relax they had hurt telling in a language that was completely alien to Sonic and Tails, yet somehow sounded familiar to Shadow.

Shadow whispered “Um it looks like that flying beast and us have alerted the Black Arm creatures near by, it looks like we are going to be found. Well trying to keep it low did not last long, I had no idea how dangerous this place was, that thing looked like some mutated dragon or something.” They all stayed silent, staying still hoping they would not be discovered already, they had barley been on the planet for 5 minutes and they were already in trouble. The voices got louder, and the louder they got the more Shadow recognised the language, he had heard it a lot during the invasion, he had even learnt some of it from Black Doom and the other Black Arms. He learnt some surprisingly quickly, almost like it was a distant memory, he wondered if maybe Black Doom had visited Shadow when he was younger on the Ark and spoke to him in that language.

They all seemed to hold their breaths when they heard them right outside the cave, a light entered the cave, the three friends eyes squinted at the light at first. They then saw a Black Arm holding a light staring at them in surprise, then immediately call the others. They entrance to the cave was quickly completely blocked by several Black Arm creatures, they immediately rushed in taking the Chaos Emeralds off Tails. “Hey give those back, creeps!” yelled Sonic about to attack only to be held down quickly by the other Black Arms, before Shadow could do anything he was held down too along with Tails. Their arms and legs were tied with an odd energy that seem indestructible at first glance, they struggled but to their horror they could not escape. They were carried off into the forest, into the unknown, the poor young fox was panicking “Oh no, what if we getting eaten or something, we don ’t know their diet.” Tails said horrified. “Shadow do you eat foxes and hedgehogs?” Sonic said half jokingly, the dark hedgehog growled “No of course not, faker!”

After several minutes of walking and Sonic insulting the Black Arm creatures trying to convince them to let them go they seemed to arrive at some sort of city. In the middle of the city a tall and grand black castle was seen from every point in the city. Upon their arrival many other Black Arm creatures with their families, stared in disbelief and confusion. They were carried into the large creepy look castle and up stairs that seemed almost endless, eventually they stopped. Sonic and Tails were thrown into some old dungeon and locked inside, the weird energy that was keeping them tied vanished like magic. “Shadow no! let us go, what do you think you are doing?!” Sonic yelled while they left the dungeon and locked the door behind them dragged Shadow away.
                           
Shadow yelled at them and struggled trying to get away but it was no use no matter how hard he tried to get away it was useless. After awhile of being dragged away, he saw a large golden door covered in patterns. Shadow was admittedly quite scared and he was scared about what they were going to do to Sonic and Tails, he was not sure why the faker’s safety mattered to him so much suddenly. One of the Black Arm men stood in front of the golden door and nocked, after a few seconds of waiting he opened the door looking in slightly. He then opened the door completely to reveal some sort of large bedroom, no one was inside the bedroom, they dragged Shadow inside put him on the bed. Shadow began to visible shake, what were they going to do with him, this did not look promising. The energy keeping him tied seemed to suddenly latch onto the bed, keeping him still on the bed, his ruby eyes widened in fear.

All the Black Arm men stared at Shadow for a bit, Shadow was speechless to say the least he had no idea what was happening but a part of him deep down knew what was going to happen next. After a moment of silent one of them spoke to you in their language, Shadow was not quite sure was they were saying but he did understand one word he had learnt before. “Wait” that was the only word he understood, they seemed to think that he knew their language fluently. All the Black Arm men left closing the door behind him leaving Shadow completely alone.
